The power of major Internet companies is growing. Due to the possession and hunger for data about its users, they have an increasingly dominant position on the Internet and in the world. Political- and the economic systems are increasingly determined by large internet companies or driven by business interest in stead of the public interest. Because of that People's freedom and civil rights are under pressure. Think about online privacy and digital identities of users. This has to change. How can we use technology to ensure digital sovereignty and (online) civil rights for citizens?
